MOTIVE POWER SERVICE TECHNICIAN

About the job

Our Motive Power team provides and services batteries used to power forklifts, lift trucks and more! For 100+ years, we’ve helped keep businesses moving. Our Techs are based out of our Dallas TX office and service the greater Dallas-Fort Worth area. Our Motive Power Service Technicians do everything from repair and maintenance of industrial batteries, chargers, and battery handling equipment, to consulting customers on cost-effective solutions, to performing maintenance and testing in our shop.

In the beginning, you’ll be spending a lot of time in our production warehouse learning the ins and outs of our industrial batteries. Once you’ve received all the training you need, you will be traveling to our customers’ locations to independently service, inspect, and problem solve.

The Systems Testing Analyst will perform on-site battery testing, analyze system performance, and assist in maintaining accurate documentation of testing procedures and results.

This position offers a dynamic, hands-on field experience, requiring frequent travel (50-75%) to customers’ sites across various industries. The Systems Testing Analyst will work in diverse environments, gaining valuable technical expertise while directly contributing to reliable power solutions. Technicians in this role will engage with cutting-edge testing technology, problem-solve in real-world applications, and collaborate with customers and teams to ensure seamless system performance.

A fully competent UPS Field Technician applies an intensive and diversified knowledge of complete UPS start-up, testing and operations. Responsible for installation, commissioning, maintaining, repairing and providing emergency support on Batteries, Chargers, Inverters, Static Switches, and Maintenance Bypass Switches for Commercial, Telecom, and Industrial systems at customers’ sites. Performs commissioning focused design reviews, prepares commissioning test procedures and reports, coordinates and oversees on-site testing. Discuss with technical support problems related to maintenance or operation of equipment.

The work will involve the installation of batteries, rectifiers, BDFBs, alarms and cabling, equipment in cell sites and utility facilities.
